Period of the masterclass – from August the 29th until September the 2nd 2023

Location – Palazzina Lorenese and Teatrino Lorenese, Fortezza da Basso, Firenze – Italy

Art. 1 – Course structure
The course is articulated in 5 sections:
1) individual lesson about the compositions of the students;
2) seminar about form, frequency, timbre;
3) contemporary chamber and orchestral repertoire analysis: listening of recordings and live excerps and
reading of the scores;
4) orchestration, instrumental technique from the second half of XX Century until today with examples;
5) creation of a new work for orchestra;

Art. 2 – Course fees
The course is opened to active student and to auditors as well:
Application fee euro               150,00
Active student fee euro         500,00
Auditors fee euro                     100,00

Students of the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole and Artes Association properly enrolled in 2023/2024 academic year have right to a reduction of € 150,00 on the course fee.

Tuesday 29 th 10.00 – 13.00: registration and meeting with the teacher

13.00 – 14.00: lunch break
14.00 – 19.00: lessons

Wednesday 30 th 10.00 – 13.00: lessons

13.00 – 14.00: lunch break
14.00 – 19.00: lessons

Thursday 31 st 10.00 – 13.00: lessons

13.00 – 14.00: lunch break
14.00 – 19.00: lessons

Friday 1 st 10.00 – 13.00: lessons and meeting with the orchestra

13.00 – 14.00: lunch break
14.00 – 19.00: lessons.

Saturday 2 nd 10.00 – 13.00: lessons and meeting with the orchestra

13.00 – 14.00: lunch break
14.00 – 19.00: lessons and delivery of diplomas

On Friday the 1 st and Saturday the 2 nd will take place the final concerts of Florence Conducting Masterclass where one or more pieces of the students of M° Portera can be performed.

To apply, please fill the online form at the application page;
The applications must be received within July the 31 st 2023 at Midnight UTC;

Art. 5 – Final rules
The participaton at the courses implies the full acceptance of the present rules.
“Artes Association” will give prompt notification of any modification of the rules that may occur.
For any legal action the Italian text of the announcement must be considered.
The competent forum is Prato’s.
